WEEK #2 QUESTIONS

2.A My workout entailed a more all-around body workout. I tried to work on all body parts since I was there for only 30-40mins. First, I started with the elliptical bike for about 5 mins to warm up with a little bit of cardio. I then did 3 sets of 12 reps of leg raises for abs. Secondly, I am did 3 sets of 12 reps of leg pushes to work on my quads. Thirdly, I decided to do a little bit on chest work as I am trying to improve in that area. I did 3 sets of 12 reps of on the chest push machine (see video link in last post for details). Fourthly, I worked on my triceps since it is a weaker strength of mine. I did 3 sets of 12 reps of triceps pull down. I then did 3 sets of 25 reps of leg raises. Fifthly, I did 3 sets of 12 reps of weighted squats. Finally, I topped off the work out with 5 minutes of the rowing machine.

2.d 7:15 am Friday the 14th. I went alone because no friend wanted to come with me that early.

2.e Before the workout I was extremely tired and unmotivated. During I was enjoying myself and after I felt good. It was a refreshing start to my day.

2.f I learnt that Vanier has good equipment even if their workout rooms are very small. What I dislike is that the schedule times to workout are absolutely awful and do not fit my schedule. I believe we should have a workout room available to us at all times and because of this I pay for a gym membership outside of school which I rather not.

2.g Elliptical, abs machine, all-purpose machine to do triceps, leg-push, biceps push, dumbbell for squats and rowing machine.

2.h I am glad I went because working out is good to take off my stress and I would recommend to a friend because there is good equipment options.

3.a 1. Keeping a healthy lifestyle is one of my core values. 2. To push my body to its limits to see what I am able to accomplish. 3. To stay mentally strong; when I don’t exercise a lot I feel more stressed and I cannot focus on daily tasks. ex: school.

3.b 1. Extremely busy schedule with work, school and balancing a social life. 2. Tiredness/overwhelmed with school and other things. 3. Lack of resources, for example only knowing a few exercises to do. Would be useful to learn new workout ideas and learn how to do them properly without injury.

3.c I like all types of workouts and physical activities. I used to be big in sports team or individual sports but being part of a group. However with school/work now I don’t have the option to commit to a team so I got myself a gym membership and go workout. I try to do outdoor activities a lot also.

3.d I like the gym only because it has a lot of options and space to workout. However, if I had more equipment at home, I would probably prefer working out at home because I don’t lose time getting to and from the gym. However, I do a balance of the both and I often do little HIIT workouts at home when I can’t make it out to the gym. I also enjoy going for jogs outside and biking to places, when its warmer outside.

3.e Make sure I leave space in my schedule for working out (stay organized). It is easy to feel overwhelmed with whats going on in your life especially with school that you forget about your health.

3.f I will always do exercise. At home workouts are great and I think I will do those until the rest of my life. Also, when money and time permits when I’m older I’ll definitely try to do as many outdoors physical activities as possible to stay in shape! Just going for a hike is my favorite thing and easy to do even as I am gonna grow older!
